Howard Wiseman, a former Winnipegger, won a Canadian Screenwriting award for his CBC-Radio Miniseries adaptation of Mordecai Richler's "Barney's Version," and was nominated for a Gemini for his TV co-adaptation of Richler's classic, "St. Urbain's Horseman."
He has been nominated for a Gemini as a director and has written and/or directed 25 episodes of television. He has four feature screenplays at various stages of development with the Harold Greenberg FUND, including "The Red River," "The Long Haul," and "The Year Of The Flood." In theatre he has penned, directed, and or starred in the fringe hits, "Mother of Pearl," and The Iron Curtain." His latest screenplay "Shadowman," is a murder mystery set in Tel Aviv. He is an assistant professor of screenwriting at York University.
